I just snared me a Fender F-15 acoustic!
Not that Fender acoustics count for much around these parts?
But I picked up this Fender F-15 acoustic from a guy today for $130usd. ![]() I looked it over while at his house, strummed it a couple of times, made sure there wasn't anything majorly wrong with it (a few dings here and there). It's a nice little acoustic! From what I can find just tonight, it's 70's and made in Japan, so for a 30/35 year old guitar, it's pretty good! Anyone who can give me any more information on it, I would appreciate it greatly!

Never saw that particular model before, but its certainly one of the Japanese built ones. In spite of a bad reputation for Fender acoustics in general, the Japanese built ones were great quality, and sounded well.
I had an F65 for a long time, and it put a lot more expensive guitars to shame. You've picked up a really interesting looking guitar. Enjoy. |

Thanks bmf!
Yeah the shape is close to a Gibson LG-1 I think? My brother has an LG-1 and I showed this to him and he agreed. He also asked me after owning all of about 5 minutes if I wanted to sell it! I have never owned an acoustic that size before (dreadnaughts or jumbos) so it makes good for a change. It's doesn't look like it's been cleaned in it's entire life and the bronze stings are black! So with a little love and tenderness it should come up a treat. The guy put Grover tuners on it, he said around 20 years ago so in my mind, there's almost half the value right there! It's a very bright sounding guitar, even with the dead black strings! Very sweet sounding, much different from anything I have owned previously? I thinking it's going to be pretty cool fro recording purposes? I dunno? We'll have to wait and see?
