Blues Box Incoming
Having met my financial responsibilities and still having a bit of cash left over from the sale of an electric, I just snagged a ca. 1937 Kay Deluxe Venetian for a couple of hundred bucks. This is one of the last Venetians made with a flat top, slotted head. Not sure if this one has the Stromberg adjustable neck but it was just too cheap to pass up. I will know Wednesday.
Here is a teaser. Looks like a restringing will be in order. Will post more later on.

The tone of this guitar is pretty interesting. Not very complex. It has an extremely nice resonant bass and full midrange. Not much in the higher end though. It actually has a slightly hollow almost resonator sound to it. Nope, no adjustable neck but the neck is straight and fat. It has a reversible bakelite bridge which is cool - one side is compensated.
