'Dawg, can you recall the specific reasons

that made you dislike 'em?
The one I'm very interested in has a lipstick on the neck
with volume and tone controls and a body depth of 2".
It has a spun cone and the proper bridge and a ivoroid
bound neck with an ebonized fret board. The body is etched and ingraved with a palm tree scene.
gotta be honest; looks wise I like it MORE than one of the Beltonas which IMHO are "the standard".

galveston

My impression is that Galveston are lesser than J. Turser guitars. Very cheap. Not really worth it.

The last one I tried, the Cone was really high which made it impossible to lower the action enough for fretwork.

It was a Metal Body, but it didn't sound like one,it had none of the Metallic, ringing tone that Metal bodiesare supposed to have.

It really was a crappy guitar.

BUT,1 guitar out of thousands of Galveston's that are out there is not very indicative of the overall quality of that brand.

There are probably good ones and bad ones of that particular model.

Heck,I've played a few Gibsons and a lot of Fenders that IMO weren't worth dragging home.

Yeah, I'll wait for a Beltona...

or maybe find a real one at Mandolin Bros. for a decent price.
