Magnetic pickup for Resonator??
I would like your opinions.
I've tried all the Transducer pups and I really want a Magnetic pickup. I don't want to route my Reso out. I just want something that'll mount to the front withourt drilling more than 3-4 small holes. I was thinking P-90 Dog ear or one of the Lace products, perhaps a P-900??? Thanks,

I installed a Dobro Lace Sensor in my guitar.
Unbelievable, incredible. No frills,no feedback, just pure sweet tone. Whether I'm running it thru one of my heavily modified Vintage Fender or Marshall Tube amps or my Acoustic amp or straight into the PA using my Tech21 Acoustic DI. It always sounds great at any Volume. Don't believe the crap that people say like,"It doesn't capture the true sound of the cone." I've had a lot of Transducer pickups, from the new Fishman to the Schatten and Mcintyre systems and none of them capture the"True"sound of the cone. Only a mic will do that. My guitar sounds like a Wood-body/Spider Bridge Reso when its plugged in. I've already gigged with it,Solo and with my band. It is incredible.

mag for Dobro
I have a Bill Lawrence magnetic pickup on my dobro which I run through a Rane AP-13 and into the board, or directly into a Twin. Sounds great either way. The nice thing about this pickup is that it is designed for an archtop, to be attached to the end of the fret board, on the sides with two little screws, so no mods necessary. If I had $200 to spare, and a resonator guitar I didn't mind cutting a hole in, I'd try to install a Sunrise pickup.

can't help with details
but i can verify that resonators sound terrific thru a mag pup! it's not the same as their acoustic sound, but some of that echoey metallic comes thru and is totally terrific and totally unlike anything that can be generated with a tone box.
i don't know if my resoelectric was a home hack job or a factory job as it was this way when i got it. and sorry i haven't taken it apart to look at the pup, but from the outside it sure looks like a tele neck pup. no tone control, no volume control. i run it thru my goodrich volume pedal and right into the amp. it's "electrifying" to play it. instant swampy bluesly foot tapping groove. and then touch a slide to it, wow! it's like it's alive, great sustain! http://www.mimi.com/music/instrument...esolectric.htm
