Anyone ever heard of a "Chaser" guitar?

I have an old classical that has been kicking around my house for 10-15 years and have never put much thought into it. My mom picked it up at a garage sale for me for $5 and it was really the guitar I learned most of what I know on.

It has been sitting in my music room for a couple of years un-played (except by my 4 year old son - though it was mostly a percussion instrument to him). Last night I was bored so I picked it up, started to clean it (something I had NEVER done with that paticular guitar) and am planning on putting new strings and replacing the tuners. It plays like a dream - especially for a $5 classical!

I was looking all over the guitar for any identifying markers and all I could find was a sticker in the sound hole that says:

Hand Crafted
Chaser
Serial number: ????

No "made in" stamp or anything else. I have searched our beloved internets for any clues with no luck.

Has anyone ever heard of a Chaser guitar before?

Chaser Guitar

Hi, I have a Chaser guitar that I bought in 1986. I paid about $500 for it back then. I compared it with Washburns that were in the same price range and I liked it better. It is Japanese made and the model is WD100; it has a built-in pickup. I have been quite happy with it - east to play and a pleasing sound - I used extra light bronze strings. A guitar shop told me I wouldn't get more than $100 for it now, so I keep it as my "scrapper."

Cheers,
Denny
