info for new to me 12 string

Lets start with I know nothing about the electronics in it. Its a Fender dg16e 12 string. I love how it plays after a little set up and fret dressing ect.. sounds good but when I plug it in i get as much hum or I should say roar from it. (mainly in settings with other amps on ect ..basically a live setting) I am playing into An ART tube pre amp. I have played it straight into to board same noise. Is there such a thing as shielding the acoustic electronics???? Or should I just try to find better electronics. I am new to any other type of acoustic pick up other than the B BAND 2.2 XOM in my martin. It is dead silent. It uses both the under saddle transducer and a sound board transducer. The Fender Uses only piezo p/u. Any Ideas would be apreciated.
