Mystery Washburn - Stephens Cutaway

I have a mid-late 80's (maybe) Washburn DC-60 6 string. This has a very, very unique Stephen Davies cutaway neck/body joint, Austrailian Kangol top, 24 fret, oval sound hole, on board electronics.

I can not find any information on this guitar on the web. I am looking for actual mfg date, other construction details and if possible a value. Any help would be appreciated.

Mystery Washburn

Nvr2Many, the only info I have on the Stephens cutaway is anecdotal at best. From my collection of "Frets" magazine (no longer in print) starting in 88 Washburn advertizes the guitar on the back cover with John Hyatt pictured playing a DC60E model featuring the "Stephens Extended Cutaway". Apparently there were several models with this feature designed by luthier Stephen Davies. No Idea when they stopped production or how many were made. Hope this helps some

Gracias Zaniac! It is amazing how little info is out there on these things. They are very cool, and comfortable to play, and use some nice exotic woods. I remember seeing an older Patty Lovelace video where she and whole band were playing them.

Thanks again.

>>>>>>>>>>> I think someone was trying to find information about these on the Washburn Forum. Go to Washburn Guitars home page, and click on the forum. They might provide the information.
