200-300 bucks tops
anyone have anything in mind? I'm looking for a good steel-string, preferrably electro-acoustic.

you can probably find a used seagull with electronics for 300 or less, but if you want new, i don't think you'll touch one for that. you can though, get a new art & lutherie with electronics for about 300.

Ibanez AEF-18...comes in three different finishes.
About $325.00 new...very good guitar for not a lot of money...has a decent pickup in it too.

Look at this Yamaha. Solid Spruce Top The tuners are nice Grover knock offs Rosewood Fretboard Tortus pickguard Straight braced - nice Dread I bought one of these as a campfire beater, these are great guitars. They sell for $200 everywhwere. I bought mine at Guitar Center and I bought a really nice Ritter bag on ebay for $45. A student of mine ordered one of these from Elderly and both of our FG's look as nice as the one in these pictures. Seagulls and A&L guitars are best bets but you'll be hard pressed to buy a Seagull S6 and any case for $300. Chicago Music Exchange used to sell new Cedar topped S6's for $280 with no case. The Yamaha is a really nice sounding guitar. I have 5 Martins and 1 Larrivee and I truely enjoy the Yamaha for knocking around. John
