Acoustic pickguards?

I recently got a A&L parlor with a solid cedar top. The cedar is easy to scratch and dent according to the reviews and I was thinking of getting a pickguard from a regular acoustic and making one to fit the parlor. Will this greatly effect the sound? What are your opinions? Thanks lexx9

No, it shouldn't adversly affect your tone, or the vibrations of the top.

You may want to look into Greven Tor-tis guards as an option.
