The Bridge Doctor! For warped or raised tops!

Bridge Doctor

I've always heard the same old story, my bridge pulling up and my action is too high. So they tighten the truss rod as tight as they can then sand down the saddle, if this doesn't they lower the profile of the whole bridge. I had this done to a 65' Martin and did it to my 70's Fender that is a Martin copy. Still both guitars had higher action than tolerable for most players.

I the plunge!
I saw the Bridge Docter in Stewart McDonald and bought it. I installed it on my fender as a gueine pig. Easy, plus I inlaid extra pearl dots to make the bridge look custom. Now my bellied Fender has a flat top, with just 2 days of adjustments.

I restrung it and it no longer sound loud and woofy or too bassy!

There is more highs and mids, plus the volume is kind of equalized on the whole frequency spectrum. Now to mention the action is back to where I like it, like my tele's.

Now I'm gonna be looking for bellied acoustics and see if I can get some good deals!

Check it out guys!

The bridge doctor has been around for at least a decade, and I've lost count of the number I've installed since then. I get mine direct from JLD. It's a great device, and high end acoustics like Breedloves come with a JLD as standard - now that's smart proactive thinking, as all flat top guitar tops are gonna bubble up eventually.

The only consideration that must be overcome during installation is if the guitar it's going into has an under bridge transducer (I-Beam, K&K, PUTW, etc.) - both the transducer and JLD want to occupy the same space. If yer careful, and there's enuf room on the bridge plate, you can make both fit.
