14's on a travel guitar

I got my travel guitar. It's 21 1/4 scale length. Would I ruin the intrument if I put 14-59's on my travel if the tension is the same as 12's tune to E standard. I want to use 14's to tune to E standard to make up for the loss of tension. I feel the tension loss is significant from a 25 scale.

I have played short scale necks and I don't think tension is a real issue. 14's seem pretty extreme. Have you given any thought to the playability with 14's? I have played a few travel guitars, they played fairly nice with 11's. If it's a tone issue try some of the GHS or Dean Markely acoustic strings both have a wide range of tonal characteristics.

I have a set of 13,s on my travel guitar. Tension total is the same as 10,s on a 25 scale. My travel guitar is 21 1/4. I guess 14,s would be playable if the tension is similar to 12,s on a 25 guitar. http://www.mcdonaldstrings.com/stringxxiii.html The calculator does not recognize 59. I calculated 56 as tuned up to F to get the same tension as 59
Edit: A set of 14's on 21 1/4 tuned to E standard is about 10 pounds less than 12's at E standard on 25.
