the Fender Sonoran is pretty awesome

I was in the market for an acoustic, but i didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount. I usually hear people talking about Taylor or Martin when it comes to acoustics, not so much Fender. But What drew me to this guitar was its appearance at first. I loved the Strat headstock, single cutaway, Pearl double binding, and pearl pick guard. I sat down and played it and enjoyed the tone. The addition of a Fishman preamp was a nice touch too. Chose the black one out of the available colors ,paid my $350 CDN, and walked away a happy camper.

I even threw on a set of DR black coated strings. They feel smooth and look awesome on the black guitar too

I think that Fender has upped their game a little in the acoustic market, I had a Fender Dg20S in the 90s that was great sounding, but the neck was awful.

I'm glad you like your guitar, and these Sonoran's are really nice looking. I had one in Lake Placid Blue, and a friend had another in Surf Green.

The only thing is, when I played it I was underwhelmed. The sound I wanted just wasn't there. I think it probably has something to do with the thick finish not letting the top resonate the way it should. I play guitars for the sound, not the looks. I ended up selling mine and getting a Martin OM-1, which is not a fancy looking guitar, but the sound is beautiful.

So, I had it for a while and it was a good starter guitar. It definitely made me hungry for a better instrument though. I took good care of it so didn't take too much of a beating when I sold it. YMMV!

I had the exact same one it is a great guitar. I love fender acoustics. Now I have a fender ce60cd for the price a very good guitar. I miss my sonoran every day though. My wife got mad at me and smashed it.
