NGD! Martin HD28V

Well i pulled the trigger on a Martin hd28v tonight. Took a ride to Nashville to try out a few just for entertainment, and well, things happen lol. After jawing the salesman down to 2400 out the door for a brand new one still in the shipping box i just couldnt resist! Anyways the v neck feels great and isnt near as sharp as the 18 series are. They seem to have alot more V to them the the 28v. I am suprised at how balanced these are. I was always turned off by the Hd28 because it was so bass heavy. The V is very balanced imo compared to the Hd28. Tone is a bit dark but ill fix that with some 80/20s to put some Zing in it. Oh did i mention sustain??.....it has no end! Its a grand piano for sure. The factory strings do feel like lights though. Martins website says they come with lifespan sp medium. But id be willing to bet there lights. I only play mediums and i can feel the difference. Anyway great guitar guys. Be sure to check them out sometime. Oh my pictures suck but its the best i can do right now

Gorgeous guitar. Played a few Martins this week and really loved the HD28 and HD28-V. Good deal too. Best of luck with it!

Looks great. Perhaps the store changed strings.

Congrats.

Nice! I think my HD28V may be my favorite guitar I own, even over my high dollar McPherson. It just does everything I need it to. Sounds like you got a great price. Did you by any chance check with Ciderville Music in TN? Its around Clinton and they have some awesome prices on new martins. As a Kentuckian, its nice to go down to TN and get the best prices, then let them ship the guitar to you to avoid sales tax.

Congrats! I saw your post over on the acousticguitarforum site. I mostly lurk over there, but you got yourself a fine acoustic there. Good price too!

Very nice.

My favorite new Martins are the VS 12 fret slotheads.

So you feel the HD-28 has MORE (((low end))) than the HD-28V ?

Don't know why, but any medium strings that I put on my HD28V feel like lights on any of my other non-Martin guitars. Makes no sense but I'm not complaining.....

Very nice! I'd still have mine if it was 1 3/4" at the nut.
