Tusq Saddle for Ovation CS257?

I have an Ovation Celebrity CS257 that was a gift from my wife- hence I cannot ever get rid of it- even if the acoustic tone is not the best. Still, it's a great player and the plugged in tone is awesome.

My question, the compensated saddle has developed some grooves under the high E and G strings. Does anyone know which model TUSQ saddle might fit this instrument? Gibson or Martin style?

I am not opposed to a bone saddle, but have heard that bone might not be the best material for a piezo undersaddle style pickup. Correct or BS?

Just trying to figure out the best saddle to go with for a replacement.

Thanks.

I should add, I am not opposed to starting with a blank and making my own saddle. Just hoping that a premade TUSQ might be available to cut down on time. I know I'll have to do some fine tuning anyway.

The Ovations carry a pretty good warranty. You might be able to get a Saddle from Ovation. I am not so familiar with the celebrity line, but the American made line is top notch. I believe the saddles are Micarta, very hard. You might see if you can get an American version of the saddle from Ovation.

Thanks Sam. Mine is a Korean made guitar and I still do have the paperwork. I've searched on the Ovation site for info on the saddle for my model, but not much there. Maybe I'll shoot them an e-mail or call.

I was hoping someone here might have the same guitar with a replacement saddle.

Thanks,
Lou

I had an ovation that was shipped with a chipped nut. I emailed Ovation with serial# of guitar and they sent me a brand new nut. They will probably do the same with the saddle.
