Simon & Patrick Showcase CW . . .

Just had my socks knocked off this weekend by the sound of this guitar . . .

I just sold (gave away) my 8-month old Martin DC-16RGTE and was at a music store picking up my Parker PM-20 that I ordered some time ago. After I picked it up, the salesman and I got into talking about Taylors and Martin - both of which he stocked. He asked me if I had ever played the SP guitars. I said I've never even heard of them. He had me play a upper-end Martin and Taylor, then he handed me a Pro series SP cutaway. I was blown away by the Martin-sounding, but much higher volumed SP.

Within ten minutes of playing, I ordered an acoustic-electric SP Showcase CW (cutaway) in Rosewood. This is a new model coming out that is a level above (or replacing - not sure???) the Pro series.

The upper-end SP guitars are without a doubt some of the best that I have ever heard . . . the volume is unbelievable, the quality is better than Taylor, and the sound is as clear, but louder than the Martin. Read some reviews on these . . .

The finish is impeccable . . . you gotta try them!

And have you seen the cases that they have???

Even my wife, who sings, knows music, and "knows" guitars very well, was bug-eyed at the sound of the SP. She is the one who said, "Get the SP Showcase." I said, "OK." (I know, I'm easy and obedient!) I was going to sell one of my Teles to defray some of the cost, but she said she'd buy it for me. What a woman!

All the guitar players in our band and in the worship team play nothing but Taylor or Martin, with the exception of one Gibson player. Can't wait to show up with the SP Showcase!!!!

Simon & Patrick are great guitars, I used to own a Pro Mahagony. It was my first acoustic, when I bought my first Tele I figured I was through with acoustics, what a huge mistake. I had a fishman pickup installed in mine. Everywhere I went people took notice of the quality of sound. You are correct, you would have to spend a lot $$$$ more to get a guitar of the same sound and quality. Some day I'll have another. Good luck with your new toy.

Vince A -- Your post was a while ago, thought I'd check in and see how you and your S&P Showcase Rosewood are getting along? Is it still love? I tried one of these recently and was totally blown away... I want one.
