Fret Repair Question

Is it possible to only get a couple of frets replaced ?? The first 3 frets have grooves from strings..isn't affecting playing it yet..I was told you would have to get them all done..etc...but that didn't sound right to me...I appreciate your thoughts and experience on this ... THX fellow members !!

If the original exact fretwire can be found you can only replace the bad ones. I've done it myself a couple of times in a pinch.

You may not need the frets replaced. I've successfully repaired some pretty deep grooves in the "cowboy chord" area by simply re-crowning the affected frets. You might need to take a little off a few frets down the board to even things out and prevent buzz, but I know re-crowning works on frets that still have plenty of height left.
