Thoughts on a Guild GAD-50
I'm looking at a new acoustic and wanted any opinions on the Guild GAD-50. I'm looking at spending around $750-800 any thoughts on the Guild or other brands that might be a good choice. Looking for dreadnought style and I will be using this guitar at church and with my band (I mostly play electric but need acoustic sometimes) we play christian rock/contemporary music. Looking for new or used, what are your thoughts? Thanks.

longtime Guild owner here. Guilds are the best bang for the buck you can get in acoustics. The entire GAD series is excellent in terms of QC and keeping true to Guild sound and playability. I'll take a properly set up Guild over a similarly appointment level Taylor any day.

I bought a GAD-30 for my son and it developed a crack in the top from the bridge to the end of the guitar... I won't buy another newer Guild GAD series guitar.

My wife owns a Gretsch model #3520 "Historic Series" which sounds and plays great with the "straight out of the box" factory set-up as is. Within your budget, Takamine guitars are worthy of checking out as well. Many band players are switching over to Takamines as their "mainstay" because of their tone, reasonable pricing, and road worthiness.
Just something to consider... www.edharrismusic.com

I have a Guild GAD-4N
I have a Guild GAD-4N acoustic-electric nylon string. Although it is well-constructed, I wouldn't buy another one on-line, because its sound is just adequate. My advice FWIW, don't buy a Guild unless you can hear it first.
