I'm liking the idea of getting a slide/resonator type box and the all metal dean seems interesting.
Anyone here got any hands on experience with this guitar?

I can only find one reviews for this guitar on Harmony and this would be my first resonator. It has 2 pick-ups and it sellls for $699.00

There are many Reso's out there at 700 bucks.

You have to play them.

The Epi Bisquit is a $300 reso that honks like crazy. I've played reso's at three times the price that sound like dead acoustic guitars. You want that great resonator honk.

I paid about half of $700 for my Dobro Hound Dog........

..and it has a nice pickup inside. It does not have the volume and tone knobs. I have to control the tone at the amp which I prefer.

Go try as many as you can. It really helps. Resonators are unique..you have to hear each model. It's a ton of fun.

studio...I've been looking at that one you have for about 500 from GC. It has no mention of having a pick-up, did you add one to yours or did it come that way?

I settled on the Hound Dog Deluxe Round Neck.
I waited on the 4th of July-''THE LIST" SALE FROM GC and got a discount.
The git and a heavy brass slide was about $485 shipped.

I played one about a year ago during my search for a budget slide reso. Looks great, but sounded pretty crappy. GC had it strung up with lighter strings, so I don't know how it would be with a true reso set on it, but I can't imagine it would make that much of a difference. I ended up with the Epi Biscuit, which only cost 250 and blew away everything else I played.
