Blueridge
Hey guys ,the subject may have already been beat to death around here but.......Blueridge guitars ,what's the popular opinion ? I recently got a Br 180 as a gift and I am pretty amazed by this chinese wonder ,it is flawless in My opinion the playabilty and craftsmanship are just makin Me real happy, it's so responsive from quiet fingerpicking to super loud strumming(more often) I haven't had a lot of acoustics to judge by(a yamaha fg 160& a 70ish Gibson J-200) but I just wanna see if this a "good one" or if they are loved across the board

I've played the BR 180 and it's a fantastic dread. LOUD, beautiful tone and superb construction. Just a gorgeous guitar. I own a BR 343 "Gospel" 000 and it's awesome as well. Very well made and great tone. Very nice inlay work too. Blueridge makes great stuff. A great alternative to the much more expensive Martins etc.

I got a "Bristol by Blueridge" as my beater acoustic. It's their budget line. I am very happy with it. Solid top. Very dreadnoughty. Sounded and played better than anything I tried in its price range. And at the price I got it for, who cares if it gets messed up.

FYI, other "budget but good" brands out there are Seagull, and Walden (apparently the guy who started Walden worked for Taylor, and the Waldens are seen as "Taylor copies", just as the Blueridges are seen as "Martin copies".
Al reviews I've seen of all 3 brands have been very good. I'm considering a Walden right now.

My suggestion is to sit down with a Blueridge and compare it to whatever you want.
IT will sit with good Martins(D-18,D-28,etc) and Gibsons. This is something that , inexpensive Martins,TAylors or most other gutiars will not do acoustically. I like SEaguls as inexpensive gutars, but they don't do what a Blueridge can do sonically, to me ear. |
