1988 Washburn D-12/N!!!!!

I got this guitar off my uncle when he moved to Australia!
Is this a good guitar? :P I couldnt find much on a google search!
I took it to a local shop to have it set up but they DESTROYED it!
I now needs a new nut and a new bridge 'nut', I dont know what its called!
I also needs a refret! Is it worth it or should I just forget about it?
In Ireland it will cost a good bit to have that done and it will be hard to find someone who can cut a nut properly!
Is this guitar woth anything??
Thanks guys
Conor

The D-12 is a decent, inexpensive, Korean made acoustic. It's nothing special - I think they originally sold for around $300-$350 in the USA. If it's a D-12S it's a bit better as the "S" indicates a solid spruce top.

You could easily make a new bone saddle ("bridge nut") for it as all you need is a blank and some sandpaper, but making a new nut requires tools and expertise.

I don't think I'd bother paying for a new nut and a refret for it when I could just simply replace it with something like a Yamaha FG730S for under $300.

i have a Washburn D-11, similar guitar. i paid $150 for it new. fixing the stuff that the shop wrecked on yours would probably cost more than that. you oughta make the shop fix what they screwed up.
