Taylor GC8-Lordy!
Never have I played a Taylor that really knocked me out. Beautiful and fine playing guitars but to my ears a bit thin and bright. Until yesterday when I played the GC8 (Grand Concert). Slotted headstock, rosewood back and sides. Stunning to look at and it sounded beautiful. A finger pickers dream w/ surprising volume for the small body. I've always been happy w/ my modest acoustics. An all mahogany 69 Favilla and a 93 Martin D-16H but the Taylor has me thinking of what I could sell and jonsing hard. Anyone tried or own?

The only Taylor I've played that I really liked was a 412CE. The x12CE Taylors are the cutaway, acoustic-electric versions of the GCx series. I think the shorter scale length really warms up these Taylors.

I have a GA4 with the short scale like the GC series. I love that guitar!! I was going to buy the GC since I liked the short scale. The place I bought it from told me that you can get any Taylor with the short scale neck and he said that the GA series would better suit my style of playing .
