My 78 Guild D-25M

I loved this guitar the moment I saw it in Grandma's Music. I went at least 3 time a week to play it. Finally, the day I was heading over there to put some money down on her someone else beat me out of her. That was August of 2002. This past January I was in my favorite shop, Music Go Round, when I looked up on the wall and there she was again! I totally flipped out and I knew I couldn't lose her a 2nd time. I had to trade in my Guild Maderia, a Yamaha APX, and my Peavey chorus pedal, but she's all mine now! I'm saving up to get her a bone nut, bone bridge shim, and bone bridge pins.

Guild D-25M

Aye aye Capt.,she's a great workhorse.Just a no frills
design. One of the few arched, laminated backs that
I really care for. This is the exact guitar(though not
necessarily the M) that eryque should seek as his
first quality flat-top.Nice choice....enjoy.

Aye, captain

Congrats on getting your axe back.

Here's my own 78 D25M, that I bought new in 78, and have owned continously since. Sorry about the over dramatic photo, I was playing around with lighting techniques a few years ago when I shot it.

Nope, never been in the shop or out of my possession--just out of curiosity, what's different about mine to make you think you may have seen it? Looks pretty much like the Captain's to me.

Overall condition just looks pristine & the bridge looks
to be a bit oversized .When you've seen as many as I have they don't all look the same.Hard to explain but...

What's the difference between the D-25 and the D-25M?

They're both mahogany back & sides w/ spruce top
but the "M" has a stained or tinted top to simulate
mahogany(D25-CH=Cherry).Notice the rosette is not scraped.A few were made with actual mahogany tops.
