What lemon oil for a seagull Sg6 neck ?

Thinking its time to apply some lemon or some kind of oil for the neck of a Seagull Sg6. Their basic line acoustic guitar.

Their website says,"each seagull neck starts out as mahogany or silverleaf maple wood."

I am also considering sanding down the back of this neck to the original wood and applying an oil.

Any reccomendations for a good Lemon oil or another kind of oil ?

thanks

I use the stuff that says "fretboard oil" on the bottle. A small bottle will last you for several years at least.

I use Dean Marley Love Potion #15 Fretboard Saver. Best stuff I have ever used on a rosewood fretboard.

Most 'lemon oil' is lemon scented mineral oil, not good stuff

I don't like lemon oil, it leaves a wierd residue on the fret board after oiling.

Plain old mineral oi, ghs fast fret, or martin conditioner work worlds better in my opinion.

I've been using the same bottle of supermarket lemon oil for 20+ years with no ill effects.
MANY folks are in the same boat.
If you want a satiny natural feel to the neck, I would leave the finish on and just give it a few passes with a scotch brite or #600 sandpaper.
That will probably give you the feel you want and require no maintenance.
