fender f65 acoustic guitar

I have a fender acoustic guitar model f65.Was wondering if anyone else had one of these? It has rosewood back and sides and abalone inlay around the edge with diamond inlays in the fret board. One thing I changed was the metal saddle that was in the bridge.I took it out and put in a piece of wood that I made from rosewood and put a bone saddle in there. It plays really good and has a great sound since I done this,it needs played because it had sat around for years after the original owner passed away.Who else has one of these? Must have been made in the early 70's sometime........

I had one until last year. I bought it on '76 when I was still a student and boy did it have a rough life. Great sounding guitar for the money, and a looker too. Fairly unashamed Martin look-a-like.

It fell by the wayside when I finally got a Martin, after 30 odd years of pure lust. The Fender sat around untouched, and I did a swop for a nice mandolin!

They were Japanese made from mid '70s sometime and were a quantum leap from the previous Fender acoustics. Examples from that series turn over on UK E Bay at very low prices - doesn't seem to be any interest in them, but a super instrument.

Hi, Just joined and picked up this thread. I have 2 F-65's from the early & late 70's, in fact I've all of the the F series from that era. I've been researching the F-Series for 5 years and put all the info online at http://philsfenders.com/index.html if you need more info.

I have an old f65. I got it in the 70s. I would never part with it. I have spent many hours on it since then. I still play it.

I owned one in the 90's, liked it alot, but like many of the guitars I liked, I sold it or traded it to acquire something else...
