Acoustic 000 Build..

Hello everyone..

I have been busy working on a stewmac 000 acoustic kit for the past few weeks and its t nearly done so i thought i would post some pics of it.

I did not get any pics of the building of the sides or gluing of the top, back, finger board and setting of the neck due to working elsewhere and forgetting the camera.

I also used purple heart for the binding made up by Dave Oddy a local luthier.

I have started to spray the guitar with clear nitrocellulose when that is done i will get the rest of the bits on it and it should be ready to play.

I will post some more pics when it's complete.

That's amazing! Here's my 000, not built by me but by a luthier friend here in New Brunswick Canada. Love that body size!

Pretty vague question, but how hard are these builds? Obviously harder than solid body builds, but how easy are the directions to follow?

Beautiful! The PW binding really sets it off in a very elegent, understated fashion. I'll look forward to hearing how it sounds. Love the sound of 'ought' guitars.

They are very well explained you should be able to do it if you have lots of cam claps a router and hand tools.

Tanks for all the nice comments guys.

Here we go for the final piece...

It sounds amazing and it's got a Ashworth bridge pickup in it too. I will try and get some recordings of it at some point.

That's impressive. As someone who yearns to start building guitars oneday, purely as a hobby, this is inspiring. I'm pretty new to this, so would you be able to give me an idea as to how much is kit, and how much stuff one needs to do oneself? As a beginner I think I should probably start relatively simple.

Thanks.

I would start with the stew-mac uke kit as it's fairly easy and sounds great when finished.
