This was a bargain for $299.....
![]() ![]() ![]() While I was demoing some amps...I made the mistake of playing this Candy Apple Red Fender Sonoran A/E.....I was wanting to see how a A/E would sound through the amps I was playing......This sucker sounds great and I am going to dare say its as good or better than a Taylor 110CE. The quality is really good..fret work is great..again plays outstanding..I most always have to do some kind of setup from a mail order guitar....Not this one-not even a string change !! ...Rosewood board is nicely figured and not gray and washed out..It has what looks like a slightly forward shifted-scaloped bracing. Solid Spruce top but does have laminated back and sides......Electronics are pretty good acutally. But the neck is fantastic !! I have never care for a "Strat" headstock on a acoustic guitar but I am sold on it now..... If your out and about and see one of these...and its not been to abused by those who frequent GC..give one a try.....I had a discount code sent to me and got it for $239 shipped...... |

Very much a dreadnaught !! I was extreeeeemely suprised.I was thinking just like you that with the CAR paint and the electronics loaded up there it would sound pretty weak...not so!! With most cutaway dreadnuaghts I can tell that it takes some of the projection away on the treble strings and it is faintly noticable on this one as well. But thats being really picky and everyone hears things differently....
Just pluck a E chord and you'll see..... |

Congradulations on acquiring one of the rare great-sounding Fender acoustics. I must say that I have heard a few good ones, and I a lot of bad ones.
It sure is beuatiful. Enjoy! I really like the color, but that maple neck is awesome. |

I remember Johnny Cash had a Kingsman or something like that and I never liked seeing him with it....I really have never cared for a Acoustic with the strat headstock and the ones I played sound very bad.....but this was a nice surprise I gotta say....great neck and it sounds like a dreadnaught. The electronics are not horriable. It comes with a upper bout strap button,so no need for a shoe string around the headstock or worrying about button placement....Its kinda girly lookin' but the CAR paint is pretty correct....and its not poured on....you can see the spruce grain if you tilt it just right.
I would of loved to get a Taylor or actually another Blueridge and add a K&K pure western mini...but this will do for sure and different than what I would like normally AND I am in dire need of a tube combo amp so the money I saved will be added to amp fund. Again-if your out and see one give it a strum....its NOT a Martin killa' by no means...but if you are like me and have/had a mind set that "Fender" has no bussiness building a Acoustic and especially puttin' a "strat" headstock on it....this might change your opinion. |

Man that's looks great in the Red. I have the Sonoran in Lake Placed Blue. Really cool colors Fender put on these... The surpise as you mentioned is how great these sound plugged and unplugged for under $300.
