Taylor 110
Just curious if anyone has any experience or thoughts on this guitar. Just looking for additional feedback before I make the plunge.

Good looking!
I loved the review that said, "Buck for Pluck this is a great guitar." Great phrase! :) I really don't mind buying an electric over the internet, just because I'm relatively adept at the set up and electrics are not as fussy as far as tonewoods and construction. I've always been leery of buying acoustics online, because they vary so much in tone. Take 3 of the same model and your likely to get a fairly different sound from each in some cases. Have you played one like this locally, are they fairly consistant? If you've found one you like in a local store, have you asked them to price match? Some here have had no problems buying over the internet and are really happy with their purchase. I'm just a little gunshy. JMHO |

I played 110s and 210s and was lucky to learn of and find a Larrivee dealer before I made my purchase. Larrivees have solid wood at a lower price and are more rounded in tone. There's nothing wrong with any of that because some like the tone of a Taylor and others not - same for how important all wood or dove tail construction is.
I suggest looking at used inventory if that $600 is your budget. I see great all wood dreads for that price in the used market and that includes Larrivee D's. |

I have a Larrivee L-03R and they are very nice but if you want a good new acoustic, you cannot go wrong with a 110. They have nice tops, great tone and you get the really nice Taylor bag with the guitar. I have a Taylor 214 that I love and I used to travel with a Bib Baby Taylor...all good stuff.
I have a suggestion, especially for a person who plays a lot of electric guitar. Test drive a 114 before buying the 110. In Taylor-speak, a guitar ending in 10 (110) is a dread. A guitar ending in 14 is a concert sized or 000 guitar (114). Taylor did not build a 14 style guitar in the 100 series for years and now Taylor offers a 114. The 114's are so comfy and dynamic. Acoustic Guitar Magazine did a "Best bets under $1000" article about three years ago....the Martin DX1 and the Taylor 110 made the top of the list. Try a 114...you cannot make a bad decison either way. Taylor 110 Link ![]() Taylor 114 Link ![]() Happy shopping! John
