I just checked, the cups I am using are 3 ounce.
So it looks like most of the time I am using about 1.5 - 2.0 oz of warm glossy brush on DEFT mixed with a tablespoon of sparkles.
On a couple of coats I put in a thinner can cap full of thinner...but that made it too thin...took forever to dry (I guess the thinner that I have acts as a retarder)...but also allowed it to flow out REALLY well. Just a trade off I guess.
That is about as precise I can be...because I am pretty sloppy about the whole thing.
I imagine that
people who really know what they are doing have all sorts of secret formulae.
