Don't know if that last part of your "dream" will come true.
Your comment about the rosewood fingerboard all of a sudden reminded my of the Lizardcaster.
About '75 my buddy (who was playing banjo in a band with me) got his hands on an ANCIENT rosewood board strat. Somebody had already painted it green metalflake. Horrible job. Rough as all get out.
Figuring that it was already gone (hey! that would be a good title for a song!) we decided to go all the way...I cut out and inlayed little lizards where the dots used to be.
