Dumping tracks from 2" tape into ProTools...

I've got a reel of 2" tape that has final bass and drum tracks laid down for some originals that I've recorded (mostly instrumental stuff). The guy that was producing/engineering my project insisted that we track bass and drums on 2"....and do everything else in ProTools.

Fine.....except that he left me high and dry.

Now I've just got a reel. And no 2" machine. Of course there are several places here in town that I can do the transfer for me....but I don't know anything about it.

Is this a in-depth process? Will I need to really be in tune with whoever does the transfer?

Or is it just a basic "set the levels and let-er-rip" kind of thing?

How much should something like this cost me?

If I can get the transfer done, I've got a contact that will help me finish the tunes, and do the remainder of the album all in the digital realm.
