Another reason why the TDPRI is SO great
Robbie Wallace - custom pedal manufacturer and excellent human being. Thanks so much, Robbie, for your kindness and generous support of my little old middle school guitar program. I can't wait to hook my kids up to your gift and listen to them wail!
I'm so grateful to all of you who, over the years, have contributed toward helping me get my dream to become a reality. I have had the guilty pleasure of watching and listening, first hand, to my all of my students as play the tarnation out of all the guitars, amps, strings, picks, and pedals that you've sent our way.
The gift of music is one of the finest things we can all share, whether it's playing it for others, teaching it, or sharing it, in whatever way. Mr. Wallace is just the lastest in a long line of wonderful TDPRIers who have continued to bless us with gifts that keep on giving.
Today, I had the priviledge of introducing James Burton (we're playing "Oh, Pretty Woman" and I showed a snippet of "Roy Orbison Black and White", on which Burton rips) and Danny Gatton (via an old Austin City Limits tape) to my middle schoolers. I couldn't do anything more than smile as they scurried to find their pens and pencils, asking me to spell Gatton's name and ask my recommendation of which of his cds they should get. My favorite quote, "He makes it look so easy, like he's not even trying!".
Today was a great day. Thanks, Robbie! (and thanks, Roy, James, and Danny, too).
Happy Holidays, all!
