I really like the Fulltone 69 pedal. I kind of divide Fuzz into two categories, the "Musical" and the "Over the top grind". The 69 is in the musical camp which I prefer. They just stopped making it, so prices on used ones have spiked, but I suspect them will come down pretty soon. Fulltone actually makes 5 fuzzes (69,70,soul bender, octafuzz,supafuzz). I have tried them all, they are all pretty good. You can listen to them at the fulltone website.

I recently tried the Durham "Crazy Horse" which does the Niel Young thing really really well (and lots of other sounds too). I was very impressed but I don't know how I would use the pedal in the music I do.
