I got into a flame war on another Guitar messageboard when stating that Strats have a better neck pickup sound than teles and that was why I had replaced the stock neckpickup from my tele with a Dimarzio Blue Velvet Strat pickup.
Seriously, when aplified properly and with a slight bit of overdrive nothing can beat a strat when it comes to playing SRV or Rory Galagher style blues.
But eversince I got my first Tele, I just couldn't hold onto my strats anymore, I sold them all minus the one that has been my true love, the lipstick red 1989, I bought new on my fifteenth birthday in 1991. That strat, now lovingly retired will be in my coffin when I die.
