How wet? Imagine that you are spraying paint. A moth or squeeter comes along an lands in the wet paint and gets sucked right in. That's the kind of wet I am talking about. One pixiesparkleflake dropped into the lacquer would sink in and be totally wet.
I did the headstock all at once. The body in sections about the size of the headstock.
When it is dry I am taking a bristle paint brush to it and trying to brush it all off. Only the stuff that is stuck the best stays behind.
I've gone back to some "bare" spots, sprayed more DEFT, and sprinkled more pixie dust and it SEEMS to work.
The pixiesparkleflakedust comes in what MUST be a spice container. There is a little twist section of the cap that exposes 3 or 4 holes. I am just shaking it LIGHTLY out of that. I would think a strainer would work well.
