I'm using a Jensen reissue AlNiCo P15N with my tweed amp builds. I built a 1/3rd open backed pine fingerjoined cab for it and clothed it in tweed/oxblood.

Its got treble snap and good mids with enough mellow on the top end to keep things from getting too bright/harsh. Buttery vintage sound.

I used a dead transformer's bellcover to make the speaker jack:
