I had a 75 custom once that weighed over 9 pounds. That thing was a boat anchor! Didn't sound that great either.
Alot of my 70's CBS stuff was very heavy. 2 of my Teles are Hollowbodies so they feel great and weight around 6.5-7. The other is your standard fare nocaster and although I never weighted it I'd say she is right around 7.5.
