I use the meter method also. The cable you use does make a difference. Here's what I got on my CS Nocaster:
normal cable: N=7.14
B=9.54
George L's: N=7.25
B=9.58
Klotz cable: I thought I had this info but don't. When I used the Klotz the resistance went down considerably.
Anyway, just some thoughts.
