we have had Jeff Beck, SRV and Rory Gallagher tribute fender guitars (tribute as in perfect replica, not signature model) this has got me thinking, what other teles would sell successfully as tribute models? My instant thought from watching an 'Oklahoma borderline' video the other day was that a Vince Gill tribute relic tele would probably sell extremely well as long as they kept it well under $5000/£3000.
I also think after seeing a demo video of his signature valley arts guitar that a Reliced Tribute model of Brent Mason's ORIGINAL primer tele (complete with b-bender etc) would be immense
how about roy Buchanan tribute 'nancy' relic??
how about a luther perkins tele/esquire?
how about a properly accurate-in-all-respects leather covered wayloncaster??
I know fender are capable of this perfect reproduction. I think in rory Gallagher's tribute model they even included the plastic dot marker at the 12th fret. And the relicing on the Jeff Beck esquire looks perfect. so how about it? what do you all think? are there any others that you think deserve having a tribute model made? maybe even fender will take notice of us!
