I'm not familiar with CS models and what pickups they have.
The Classic Series '60s Tele has a bridge pickup wound around 6.4k; its polepieces are staggered and are not beveled on their tops; it has plastic/vinyl (not cloth) insulated leads, and has plastic top/bottom plates for a framework without any metal baseplate. Fender's parts list identifies the part number as the same pickup used on the Classic Series '50s Tele and '50s Esquire, and in an earlier version of the Hwy 1 Tele; however all those had a flatpole bridge pickup. My theory is, that's a typo and the '60s bridge pup is the same one that's used in the Classic Series '69 Thinline and '72 Custom.
I like the Classic Series pickups. I've figured out how to add a baseplate in an easily reversible way and I keep trying them with and without. I think I like them better with a baseplate.
The AV '62 Custom bridge pickup polepieces are staggered with beveled tops. It has cloth insulated leads, fibrous top/bottom framework and a copper plated metal baseplate. Darrell loves his. I have one on order from my local Fender dealer to try.
