I had a dream once
Last year sometime I had a dream that I was standing around backstage at some weird show where there were a lot of acts, including Clapton. I remember one snippet very clearly. The stage had wooden floors, looked like a big high school auditorium in a building built around the turn of the century. So the stage was in the basement, small windows way up by the ceiling (because that's the only part above ground level), the walls were painted a weird blue color and there was that weird faded seafoam green paint on everything metal. Looked like it was painted in 1962.
The show was one of those setups where they have weird acts playing together for just a few songs, and when Clapton took the stage he had Slash as his rhythm guitarist. One of them got pissed with the other and Slash walked off the stage in the middle of the first song, and somehow I wound up on the stage with someone else's guitar and trying my best to catch up. I think we played just one more verse and chorus and then the song was over and I thought we were leaving the stage, but that wasn't the case. Instead we started playing "Green Onions", and I remember thinking "Man, this is a great guitar, I get better and better every second."
See, I knew it had to be the magical guitar because I'm not that good of a player!
