The fact that you got no sound at all means the problem is the the output section---output transformer---power tubes---if the output section was working you would be at least be getting some operational noise/humm.
I would say check to power tubes first. If you have some known good additional 6L6's--try them. Second I would check the speaker wire/hookup.
