I have the Gibson version, and it is a very bright amp, but you can roll off your tone control to taste. As a bedroom amp, it will do all you want and it is loud enough for your jam scene. It will eat tubes at a rather high rate, and if you want distortion playing around the house, I hope you have understanding people living with you. I have found it a well built great sounding little amp and I love it played with my Bassman/15 Weber combo. I wish they made a 5 watt version. I was lusting after a Champ this weekend so I could distort around the house.
