I have a few vintage classics and I still plug into my TE 1x10. It's a great little amp - destined to be a classic. Some early ones did have transformer problems which accounts for the reputation...but that was not the norm.

Mine's been flawless since day one. They do run hot so expect to change the tubes every 6-9 months....and I usually run mine with the volume flat out with the tone on zero. Amazing tone...tiny box....reverb not required with a tone that big.

PS...the early Gibson Goldtones were the exact same amp (even said Trace Elliot on the board)...later Gibson messed with them a bit but they're still good.
