Yes, but I think a guitarsmith should have the option of making his own raw necks and/or placing mass orders from USACG for necks with uncommon specifications, or perhaps stock unfinished necks from Allparts, and then give the customer the option as to what he wants.
I want to emphasize that the unfinished necks that come in the box from Allparts, even though they're licensed and have a lot of Fender DNA in them, still have a long way to go before they can be called a finished product. I think there's a tendency to put down guys who use these pieces parts as though it is a finished product. I suggest it is just a starting point.
