One of the biggest compliments my dad ever laid on me was hearing me play "Goodbye Pork pie Hat" in my bedroom. I used to get one of those guitar player magazines and they had a good tab of it in there , took me about a month to get it all down, then one day I cranked it, didn't know my dad had come home, he was standing there at the basement door when I was coming up and said,"was that you?" I felt really embarrassed,just stood there like the 15 yr old dork I was, he said "I thought that was a record , until you unplugged it". He nodded his head a couple times....
Beck's taught me more about melody and its elasticity than anyone else, Nigel taught me about volume...
