I actually don't think it's possible to "get" a sport that's quite unfamiliar to you after watching just a few games. To really get into it, you must know the rules, different playing patterns/systems, know the players and be able to recognize great technique/performances. These things will obviously take years to learn to enjoy..... And some will still not be able to enjoy it.
