By the way, what Fezz is trying to tell you is a 12DW7 is a dual triode, but each side is dissimilar. Side One is low gain like a 12AY7 (gain 20) Side Two is like a regular 12AX7 (gain 100).
So, in your amp, this would accomplish what you want.... low gain in the preamp, and maintain high gain in your tremelo section.
