My .02 - return it and get a Squier CVC. Similar price point, good quality, much more tele-like sound, IMO. I spent a lot of time with a MP and liked the feel of it, but ultimately the *sound* wasn't quite right, and I liked the CVC just about as much (body contour cut on the MP was one thing I did like better about it, though the CVC is still plenty comfy for me).
