it was the guitar playing we were getting off on.... more than the lyrics.... not many of us were guitar players then either...
I wondered why Joe went to the Eagles at the time ?...

Because his career was faltering, he was having a hard time selling records and filling arenas and he hated being a band leader... He really IS NOT a strong songwriter (although he has written some memorable songs)
He went to the Eagles and they wanted a harder edge... they already had Felder but wanted an even harder edge... it was good for both (although I hated it because I liked both acts separate music and never liked what Joe did with the Eagles nor what they did with him)
It was money and convenience and opportunity....
Marketing is effective.. but it only goes so far.. these new guys have talent... to not think so is to go all in fuddy duddy...
