I don't know why I said Abmaj7 - too much 'jazz damage' I guess - it's absolutely just an Ab triad (I was even playing a triad - ?).
I think you've got it. I still hear the Bb+ in the verses as a G/Bb but whatever. As we say 'close enough for government work'.
